a Harvest Festival, with a twist, @ St John’s Old Trafford

We ask:

can our communities thrive and planet survive, as we know it?

We answer:

Yes, if we use our LOAF (Local, Organic, Animal friendly, Fairly-traded) and show it!

St John’s Harvest Festival (September 4/5/6) will celebrate local growing, local musicians, local artists and, at the beginning of Community Energy Fortnight, plug what local people can do (www.stjohnssunshine.org) when we channel the power of the sun and share the benefits with our communities and planet.

Friday sees the opening of the Festival with circus skills, musicians and an exhibition of local produce and art.

Saturday sees the launch of Community Energy Fortnight as we promote ways of empowering our communities to work together with the earth. Musicians, poets, storytellers and a giant puppet will show us how! Stalls selling locally made, fairly traded goods will signpost shared learning with the WEA, Trafford College and others at St John’s Centre...all this + cake!

Sunday celebrates with a ‘fair share feast’ for the community after a traditional Harvest Festival service. Food will be collected to share with the homeless and the cash strapped, before we sit down to a festival meal for all in the hall. Come and join us for a Harvest with a Twist!
